Rob worked on a garden workplan in 2021 to identify all current plants in the garden and plan the future of the garden. In this plan(attached), he recommends building 16 individual themed gardens distributed around the land. The gardens are connected by a path and tell the history of the Mbweni&influential people in it's history along the path. Some gardens include a garden curated after talking to the descendants of the students in the freed slave girls school, a John Kirk garden with all plants named after John Kirk, a garden dedicated Flo Liebst(the conversationist who started the garden) with her favorite species, a butterfly garden and so on. The themed gardens combine with the ruins and the art to amplify the story of Mbweni.

  • Approach Rob again for him to keep working on his plan
  • Discussing with ROb the budget needed for new planting and landscaping
  • Possibly re-hire Khamis to care for and be able to give tours of the garden
