Based on this:

Please be reminded that what ThreeFold is doing as a project has never been done before and there is no playbook or manual for any of this. The technology is open source and we are not a commercial organization. The ThreeFold Foundation is a group of well-intended people all doing our best to do right for the project and for the community. We hope you see the actions here reflect that ethos. In addition, we should all be reminded that ThreeFold is not a project about mining tokens, it is about deploying usable hardware in a decentralized and distributed way. Therefore hardware needs to be good and reliable enough to run workloads, and rewarded for this.
