# Solidaridad
![](img/solidaridad_.jpg)
## Why?
Smallholder farmers have to be the customer and not the product of the emerging agricultural data economy.
## What?
A farmers MOVEMENT for fairness in the production and trade in commodities and associated data. Based on the principles of
- Fair Participation
- Fair Share
- Fair Value
- Fair Voice
in the entire value chain
Fairdata provides the framework for an alternative data economy that works for smallholder farmers
## How?
Initiatives in working together with [Solidaridad](https://www.solidaridadnetwork.org/) to achieve the following:
- Farmers: get fair value for their product and (self-assessment) data and access to added value services
- Businesses: get direct access to high quality data on responsible production and compliance
- Consumers: get access to impact stories and a new and connected product experience
The TF Tech technology stack is able to create a decentralised marketplace on which infromation can be traded where the original data is owned by the originators (farmers) and businesses get the information of responsible production and compliance while the proceeds for this data flow back to the data owners.
A digital token (currency) is instrumental to make this work.
Detailed project plans are being created.
